Wash Guide
Your Suzushii apparel is crafted from premium heavyweight cotton and finished with high-quality printing designed to last. To preserve the softness of the fabric and the vibrancy of the design, proper care is essential. By following the washing and care steps below, you’ll ensure your garments look and feel their best, wash after wash.
Machine Washing
To keep your prints vibrant and prevent damage, follow these steps when machine washing. The goal is to reduce friction, heat, and chemical stress that can weaken fabric or damage prints over time.
- Turn Inside-Out: Always flip garment inside-out before washing. This protects the design from rubbing against other fabrics in the wash cycle.
- Wash Cold (30 °C / 86 °F): Hot water can shrink cotton and fade inks. Cold water maintains fabric strength and preserves print vibrancy.
- Use Gentle Cycle: A mild wash cycle reduces stress on fibers and helps prevent cracking or peeling of prints.
- Choose Mild Detergent: Avoid bleach, strong stain removers, or harsh chemicals — these can break down inks and fabric fibers.
- Wash With Similar Fabrics: Keep apparel away from heavy items like jeans or towels, which increase friction and wear down prints.
- Mesh Laundry Bag: For extra protection, place the garment in a mesh laundry bag to reduce tumbling abrasion.
Hand Washing
Hand washing is the gentlest way to clean and is recommended if you want maximum longevity. It minimizes mechanical stress and keeps prints looking sharp.
- Fill Basin With Cold Water: Use cool water to avoid shrinking and fading.
- Add Mild Detergent: Use a small amount — avoid bleach or fabric softeners.
- Turn Inside-Out Before Wash: Shields the printed surface while you clean.
- Gently Agitate: Swirl the garment lightly without scrubbing or wringing.
- Rinse Thoroughly: Remove all detergent to prevent buildup that can stiffen fabric.
- Press, Don’t Wring: Press out excess water with your hands or a towel. Wringing twists fibers and can damage prints.
Drying
Drying correctly prevents shrinkage and keeps the print looking sharp.
- Air Dry (Recommended): Lay flat or hang on a wide/rounded hanger in the shade. Direct sunlight can fade prints.
- Tumble Dry on Low (If Necessary): If you must machine dry, turn the garment inside-out, use the lowest heat setting, and remove promptly when dry.
- Avoid High Heat: Excessive heat damages cotton fibers and weakens prints.
Ironing / Steaming
Wrinkles are normal with cotton, but remove them safely to avoid damaging the print.
- Iron Inside-Out: Use low heat and place a thin cloth or towel between the iron and fabric. Never iron directly over the design.
- Steam With Care: Light steaming inside-out is safe, but avoid holding steam directly over the print for too long.
- Hang Immediately After Wash: Hanging garments right after washing helps wrinkles fall out naturally and reduces the need for high heat.
Following these guidelines will help maintain the vibrancy, softness, and longevity of your Suzushii apparel.
